Mandate
The Emergency Preparedness Committee (EPC) establishes and promotes an integrated Ontario police service approach to preparing for large scale and emergency events, both natural and human caused. It strives to meet public expectations, mitigate risk, and increase community safety throughout the province by:
- Bringing together Ontario police services to collectively address emergency preparedness and response issues;
- Ensuring appropriate engagement between Ontario police services and key stakeholders within Ontario's emergency management community on policing related issues;
- Ensuring Ontario that police services engage with municipal, provincial, and federal authorities in relation to emergency management policy.
