Mandate
The Committee's mandate is to focus on issues, practices and trends impacting, or potentially impacting, those that serve with Ontario's police services.
The Committee specifically:
- acts in an advisory role to the OACP Executive on finance matters affecting police services in Ontario;
- researches and develops positions on finance-related areas for the Executive's consideration;
- creates and fosters an environment where senior police executives and other finance professionals can access information, best practices and advice;
- foster partnerships with other organizations that may be beneficial in achieving the objectives of the OACP;
- remains vigilant regarding finance-related challenges in policing, current and future, and provides viable options to the province to address these challenges;
- remains alive to best practices that can be shared throughout policing; and
- develops educational and training opportunities for Committee members and the OACP.
The Committee members are comprised of members who are responsible for the delivery of financial planning and business management service to Ontario's police services, and eligible for membership in the OACP.
