Calls by police leaders to reform the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) process so that it is responsive and effective for police personnel have been resisted by police associations. Furthermore, the Government of Ontario has absented itself from the discussion, preferring to have the WSIB engage with stakeholders. The OACP has met with WSIB and representatives from the Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO) and the Police Association of Ontario (PAO) to discuss potential solutions to enhancing the WSIB system.
