Threat to “Positive Funding”

While the Government of Ontario has announced some positive funding commitments in such areas as mental health support for police personnel and combating human trafficking, we remain concerned that such funding is vulnerable to provincial budgetary pressures. The OACP will advocate for a sustainable provincial strategy to maintain and enhance current funding for such programs and introduce new funding to support police services and address other public safety issues.
