Mandate
In alignment with the OACP vision of "building excellence in police leadership for safer communities," the Constable Selection System Committee (CSS) applies constable hiring and recruitment stewardship with the goal of fostering collaborative and respectful relationships amongst policing agencies and partners in Ontario, to review, implement, educate, deliver, and maintain and personify the values of hiring practices in policing in general.
- Champions the use of the Constable Selection System.
- Coordinates and develop training and development of CSS users.
- Maintains a quality assurance program to ensure consistent and correct use of the System.
- Develops a communications strategy to ensure that a forum for dialogue relating to CSS process is provided to the users.
- Look for opportunities to advance and improve the current CSS hiring process through the development of strategies and recommendations.
- Work in partnership with other committees and stakeholder partners to ensure that the integrity, viability, and defensibility of the CSS are maintained.
- Identifies current and emerging recruitment trends that may impact CSS.
