The Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police (OACP) has supported the work of police services across our province in exploring ways to positively and proactively address issues involving workplace harassment and discrimination and the barriers that hinder respectful and inclusive workplaces. In particular, the OACP endorsed the work that the Toronto Police Service (TPS) and the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) started in 2021 to address the challenges faced by both services. As a result, the Working Group on Respectful Workplaces in Policing was created in late 2021, co-chaired by the TPS and the OPP, and endorsed by our association.
The Working Group, in collaboration with the OACP, will be hosting a Workshop on November 19, 2024, at the Springhill Suites Vaughan, to bring police leaders and subject matter experts together to explain why best practices developed by the WG are needed, and provide a walk-through of the best practices and how attendees can implement them in their respective services.

- Intake/Assessment of Complaints, Including Workplace Conflict
- Workplace Investigations, with consideration to matters that overlap with the CSPA
