Ontario’s police leaders passed two important resolutions regarding Canada’s National Public Alerting System and the replacement of the Automated Criminal Intelligence Information System (ACIIS) for law enforcement in Canada. These resolutions were passed at the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police’s (OACP) Annual General Meeting held virtually on June 25, 2020 – the first time the AGM was held virtually in the association’s 69-year history. “As police leaders, we value opportunities to make Ontario’s and Canada’s decision-makers aware of important issues that impact public safety and our ability as police to keep people safe,” said Chief Antje McNeely, OACP President. “We are grateful for the hard work of all our committees in addressing the many challenges and opportunities facing our police services.” The resolutions are available on the OACP website.
