YOM HASHOAH:
CANADIAN AND AMERICAN POLICE CHIEFS STAND WITH JEWISH COMMUNITY
KRAKOW, POLAND - April 18, 2023: Today, Canadian and American Chiefs of Police and law-enforcement leaders laid flowers at the Plaszow concentration camp site to mark Yom Hashoah (Holocaust Remembrance Day) in a solemn ceremony.
In an inspiring tribute to the Six Million Jews murdered in the Holocaust, police chiefs and officials read Holocaust Survivor testimonies at the site where thousands of Jews were murdered and enslaved. The group also heard prayers and contemplations as part of the memorial.
AGPI Founding Chair and CEO, Avi Abraham Benlolo said, "today we came here to remember the victims of the Holocaust. We remember the six million Jewish people who were gassed, killed, drowned, burned alive and tortured, while the world looked on in silence. Today we are silent in contemplation. But for the rest of the year, we will fight back".
Over the coming days, the police delegation will be learning about the Holocaust and visiting Auschwitz. The delegation will then travel to Israel for AGPI's Global Peace Conference and Israel's Independence Day, among security related programs.
