The Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police (OACP) inaugural Reintegration Facilitator Course from October 16 to October 20, 2023, hosted by York Regional Police is sold out. We do have a waiting list for the next Reintegration Facilitator Course. To be added to the list, please contact Sharon Seepersad at sharons@oacp.ca.
The reintegration course was originally developed by the Edmonton Police Service (EPS) in 2009 when the service recognized the need for a program that would offer more substantial support for members returning to work after any critical incident. EPS then developed the Long-Term Reintegration program, which is designed to meet the needs of any member who has been away from the workplace for an extended period of time. An Instructor-Training course was then facilitated in Ottawa in 2021. There are currently nine qualified Reintegration instructors in Ontario from various police services.
The Reintegration Facilitator Course will ensure consistent training for and accessibility to the Reintegration Program within police services across the province. The goal of this course is to provide knowledge, skills, and abilities to those undertaking this critical role of Reintegration Facilitator and supporting members returning to work.
