The Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police’s (OACP) Board of Directors held an official (and virtual) Board meeting on Tuesday, October 13, 2020. Members can check out the meeting agenda and supporting documents on our website under the Member section of the new website.
Highlights of the meeting include:
- A presentation on implicit bias testing by TNT Justice Consultants as part of our on-going efforts to meet the needs of Ontario police services on constable recruitment;
- A presentation on incident response training by Superintendent Jeff Sandy, Ontario Police College Director Paul Hebert and Chief Instructor Mike Barnhart, Superintendent Chris Newton, Chair of the OACP Emergency Preparedness Committee, and Inspector Dean Streeferk, Chair of the OACP Incident Response Sub-Committee;
- An update on the upcoming launch of the new OACP website;
- Discussion on OACP public policy priorities for 2021;
- An update on the Board’s Systemic Racism Working Group by Chief Nishan Duraiappah and Joe Couto; and
- A discussion on the OACP’s Strategic Plan, which will be revised in 2021.
