(Toronto, ON) – Members of the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police (OACP) have passed resolutions calling on the Government of Ontario to partner with the province’s police leaders on important traffic safety issues and responding to mental health calls. A total of five resolutions, including one on standardizing a police ceremonial training course for police services, were passed by OACP members on June 13 at the association’s Annual General Meeting held in Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON.
The resolutions passed were:
- 2022-01 Canadian Police Ceremonial Training Course
- 2022-02 Provincial Funding for Police Response to Mental Health Calls and to Establish a Transfer of Care Protocol
- 2022-03 Mandatory Wearing of Lifejackets or Personal Flotation (PDFs) While in Vessels Under Six Meters
- 2022-04 Increase Owner Liability in Ontario
- 2022-05 Illegible Licence Plates in Ontario
