The new Community Safety and Policing Act (CSPA) will come into force on April 1, 2024. To ensure Ontario police personnel are ready to comply with the new legislation, the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police (OACP) is partnering with the Police Association of Ontario (PAO), the Ontario Association of Police Services Boards (OAPSB), and the Ontario Senior Officers Police Association (OSOPA) on a joint conference that will ensure that the information in the Act and associated regulations are known, shared, and discussed.
The conference will highlight key changes to the policing framework and feature sessions delivered by industry experts. The conference will promote a shared understanding of the CSPA. Particular focus will be paid to the impacts of various changes on police services of various sizes.

To accommodate the CSPA Summit, the 2024 PAO Employment Conference has been condensed to a one-day, pre-summit event on Monday, February 26, 2024.
2024 OACP Labour Conference
The OACP plans to host its annual Labour Conference in early February in the Greater Toronto Area. This conference will be of particular interest to police leaders and human resources professionals in Ontario police services. Watch for more details in the coming months.
