Over the past 20 years, the Canadian Police Memorial Ride to Remember has grown to include approximately 180 police and peace officer cyclists from 15 law enforcement agencies who ride 700 km from the Ontario Police College to the Ontario Police Memorial in Toronto and then to the National Police and Peace Officers’ Memorial in Ottawa to pay tribute to the fallen police and peace officers who have been killed in the performance of their duties.
This year’s Ride to Remember will commence on Wednesday, September 21st, at OPC and will conclude at the National Police and Peace Officers’ Memorial on Parliament Hill on Saturday, September 24th. A ceremony paying tribute to the families of our fallen police and peace officers will take place.
With the generous support of its sponsors, the Ride to Remember will be making a $17,500 donation to support the Canadian Police and Peace Officers’ Memorial, the Path of Honour at the OPC, and Camp Faces. In addition, this year a number of community engagement stops will be made along the way to encourage an active lifestyle and increase awareness of accessibility to sports programs for at-risk youth and to promote positive police and community relations.
