It’s a sign of the times: this year’s Provincial Crime Prevention Week is taking place from November 1 through 7 – virtually! Crime Prevention Week provides an opportunity to showcase the successful collaborative efforts between police services and community organizations as they work towards the common goal of preventing crime and creating safe, resilient communities across Ontario.
The theme for this year’s Crime Prevention Week is Serving Ontario, Protecting Communities. Given the on-going COVID-19 pandemic, police services are encouraged to be creative in how they showcase their crime prevention initiatives and programs, provide information on crime issues of importance to people in their particular community(ies), and emphasize the need for everyone to work together to make their homes, schools, workplaces, and neighbourhoods safe.
We look forward to the many stories about how our police services are working with their communities to make Ontario safer. Please remember to use the hashtag #CPWeek2020 on your social media platforms!
