Advocacy |
The OACP defines critical policing issues and develops sound and constructive positions to assume an advocacy role in partnership with the community. |
Committees |
Committees are established to generate programs, define the concerns of the membership, and forward recommendations to the Board of Directors. |
Communications & Network |
The OACP provides assistance to members on a one-on-one basis or through a committee, which will assist members on a multitude of topics for the betterment of policing in Ontario. It communicates information on relevant issues both internally and externally to its members, and externally to key stakeholders. The OACP fosters an environment of shared experience and expertise. Members needing guidance can access the resources of a network of experienced colleagues. |
Conferences |
The Annual General Meeting and Conference is held each June and provides the members with an opportunity to debate and discuss current issues, participate in seminars, and receive reports from operating committees outlining programs and projects carried out within the Province. Conferences provide an opportunity for professional training and development. |
Educational Seminars & Workshops |
Educational seminars and workshops are held on an on-going basis throughout the year by various committees. Their objective is to provide education and training to both members and non-members responsible for developing OACP initiatives in their respective communities. |
Zone Meetings |
The Province of Ontario has been divided into seven zones. Each zone has a designated Director and Chair. Throughout the year, members within each zone meet to discuss current issues, and to receive information and professional training. Zones develop issues and resolutions for Board consideration. |
