OACP’s Substance Advisory Committee Updated Drug Strategy Framework Position Paper

On behalf of the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police (OACP) Executive Board and the Substance Advisory Committee, we are pleased to share our revised Drug Strategy Framework position paper and key messages regarding substance and drug issues in our communities. 

These resources are designed to empower police leaders to address the specific needs of their communities. Our approach balances the need for enforcement with the necessity for community safety, well-being, and treatment. We acknowledge the disruptive and chaotic behaviours that require enforcement but emphasize a broader, more comprehensive strategy.
