Thank you to the many police leaders who participated in the Fall Police CEOs Day held on December 1, 2022, in Vaughan. The day-long gathering of top police leaders from across Ontario offered an opportunity for sharing and learning on some of today’s key law enforcement issues.
OACP President Chief Nishan Duraiappah opened the day with an update on the association’s current priorities and activities, followed by an update on the Constable Selection System’s pre-certification process. Participants also benefited from sessions on the federal government’s firearms initiatives and the impact on police operations and a panel on policing human resources issues in the post-covid era. The afternoon was dedicated to the always popular roundtable where participants discussed issues emerging within our various OACP Zones.
We wish to thank the Honourable Michael Kerzner, Solicitor General for the Province of Ontario, for joining police leaders on November 30 for dinner. The Minister spoke to the CEOs Day participants with passion about what is possible in policing if we work together.
