The Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police (OACP) is pleased to support the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence annual campaign dedicated to ending gender-based violence. The campaign started on November 25 on the International Day for Elimination of Violence Against Women and ends on December 10, World Human Rights Day, and also encompasses the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women on December 6.
The OACP shared a social media campaign kit with all Ontario police services that can be used to raise awareness of this important topic. The material includes:
- A guide for campaign distribution
- recommended campaign content distribution schedule
- campaign media files, and
- sample campaign analytics template
OACP members can access the information at the Government of Canada site. For more information, please contact Inspector Valier Gates, Barrie Police Service, at vgates@barriepolice.ca.
