OACP Demands Action on Military Sexual Assaults Framework

The Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police (OACP) issued a statement on October 12, 2022, calling for the Government of Canada to establish a national working group to support a coordinated and consistent approach to the transfer of military sexual assault investigations to civilian police services. Police Community Mourns

The police community this week is mourning the tragic loss of two South Simcoe Police Service officers who died in the line-of-duty. Constable Devon Northrup and Constable Morgan Russell were fatally shot while responding to a call on October 12, 2022.
Police personnel across the province will continue to support Acting Chief John Van Dyke and the women and men of the South Simcoe PS in the difficult days ahead. Details on the funerals will be shared by the OACP when they become available.
