The Barrie Police Service has been in existence since 1853 and enjoys the distinction of being the second oldest active police service in the Province of Ontario. With 342 full-time staff including 237 sworn members, the Barrie Police Service has a vision of policing excellence to ensure a safe and secure community, and a mission to serve, protect and enhance our community by providing professional, accountable and sustainable police services.
The Barrie Police Services Board (BPSB) is currently accepting applications for the position of Board Administrator. The incumbent oversees the day-to-day operations of the Board business, keeping in mind provincial statutes, collective agreements, and the necessity of maintaining confidentiality in the working relationship with the Board. The role of the Administrator is to assist the Board in fulfilling its civilian governing function by being responsible for the efficient and effective management of the administration, including acquiring and developing the necessary resources to support the policy making, complaints, and managerial functions of the Board. This is a part-time position (approximately 20 hours per week).
The successful candidate will possess a community college diploma or equivalent in business, administration or legal studies as well as a minimum of two to three years of related administrative experience and the following KSA’s:
